The 40/60% Myth — Why More Oil Doesn’t Mean Better Perfume
You may have seen perfumes advertised with 40%, 50%, or even 60% perfume oil concentration. While these numbers sound luxurious, they are often exaggerated and, in many cases, technically unrealistic.
In professional perfumery, perfume oil concentrations rarely go above 35%, even for Extrait de Parfum. Why? Because beyond that point, the formula often becomes unstable, unbalanced, or uncomfortable on the skin. High oil content can cause the perfume to feel greasy, irritate the skin, or lose its complexity. The top notes may vanish, the heart may be drowned out, and the base may sit too heavily — resulting in a scent that is flat, overpowering, and lacking elegance.
At Brogi, we focus on what truly matters: quality, balance, and performance. Our Extrait de Parfum formulas are crafted with 20–35% perfume oil, using only the finest materials — including real oudh from trusted sources like Cambodian, Assafi, Thai, natural absolutes, and refined aroma molecules. Our Eau de Parfums are blended at 15–20%, designed for richness, longevity, and wearable luxury.
We don’t believe in inflated numbers or marketing hype. We believe in creating fragrances that feel refined, perform beautifully, and evolve naturally on the skin.
Because true luxury isn’t louder — it’s smarter.
Please note: pure perfume oils are not suited for spray bottles, as the viscosity of the oil prevents proper diffusion and clogs the atomizer. For oil-based formulations, Brogi will soon offer an elegant roll-on format — the only way to truly enjoy extrait oil in its purest form. Extrait spray will be alcohol based and roll-on oil based (only 30ml).
